North Texas defeats the University of South Florida volleyball team in an exciting match.
In an exciting volleyball match, North Texas defeated South Florida 3-1. The Bulls were unable to win despite strong offensive performances from Buse Hazan (27 kills) and Maria Clara Andrade (17 kills). With two blocks, Niki Khoshatefeh led the team defensively. The teams tied 54 times in a fiercely contested match. In their next games against SMU and Tulsa, the Bulls will be trying to get back on track. Former Bulls player Jolene Shepardson, the team’s head coach, will be looking to lead the group to conference victory.

October 19, 2023, TAMPA, – On Friday night, the University of South Florida volleyball team (13-7, 7-2 AAC) will host the North Texas Mean Green for the Bulls Blackout match at the Yuengling Center. These are two teams that are heading in different ways. Tulsa has dropped its last two games while SMU has won three straight. Entering as a three-touchdown favorite, SMU is led by star quarterback Preston Stone, who has passed for 1,767 yards and 16 touchdowns with just five interceptions. The good news for TU, though, is that there have been many upsets in this series, as well as cases where strong underdogs have at least threatened the favorite. Look for the Golden Hurricane to scare SMU this next Saturday before Halloween, before the Mustangs win by 13—SMU 33, Tulsa 20.
