It’s like the start of the week leading to Easter, a big celebration in Christianity This event was important because it fulfilled ancient predictions about the Messiah and showed Jesus as the Savior. Churches celebrate Palm Sunday with special services where palm
branches are blessed and given to people. Sometimes, there are processions to remember Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem.

Arrival in Jerusalem:

Arrival in Jerusalem means when Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem. It’s remembered on Palm Sunday. Jesus rode into the city on a donkey, not a horse, showing humility and peace. People welcomed him by spreading palm branches and cloaks on the road, honoring him as their king. This event starts Holy Week before Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection.

Fulfillment of Prophecy:

Fulfillment of prophecy” means when something predicted in the past comes true. In the context of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, it refers to the fulfillment of an old prophecy from the Jewish scriptures, where it was said that the Messiah, a special leader sent by God, would enter Jerusalem riding on a donkey. So, when Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey, it was seen as the fulfillment of that prophecy.

Palm branches:

Palm branches are long, leafy branches from palm trees. In the context of Palm Sunday, they symbolize victory, triumph, and honor. People waved palm branches to welcome Jesus as he entered Jerusalem, showing respect and joy for him.

Hosanna:

“Hosanna” is like saying “Please save us” or “Save us now” in Hebrew. On Palm Sunday, when Jesus came to Jerusalem, people used “Hosanna” to show they believed he could save them. It’s a way of praising and asking for help from someone special, like Jesus. When Jesus entered Jerusalem, people greeted him with excitement, shouting “Hosanna “and waving palm branches. This showed they believed Jesus was the special person they had.

But little did they know, this was just before his arrest and crucifixion. So, Palm Sunday marks the start of the most important week in the Christian calendar, reminding believers of Jesus’ journey to save humanity.
