Elvish Yadav and five others in Noida were charged with violating the Wildlife Act by arranging snake venom at rave events last year.
Elvish Yadav, the winner of Bigg Boss OTT, has been detained in a snake-venom-rave party case. Mr. Yadav was summoned in for questioning earlier in the day. He will be brought before a court shortly.
A Wildlife Act charge was filed against him and five people in Noida last year for arranging snake venom at rave events.
On November 3, last year, the police raided a banquet venue in Noida’s Sector 51, arresting five people, four of whom were snake charmers, and recovering nine snakes and poison. Aside from rave gatherings, Mr. Yadav allegedly used snakes for video shooting.
The prominent YouTuber has various snake-related videos on his channel.
How Was the Snake Venom-Rave Party Gang Busted?
After witnessing footage of Elvish Yadav, the animal rights group PFA (People for Animals), led by BJP politician Maneka Gandhi, called him up while concealing its name and identity. They requested that he deliver snakes and poison. Mr. Yadav reportedly provided them with the phone number of someone named Rahul, who invited them to the Sector 51 feast. The PFA crew discovered four snake charmers—Jaikaran, Titu Nath, Narayan, and Ravalnath—together with nine snakes, including five cobras, and 20 ml of snake venom. A team from the Noida Police and Forest Department was dispatched shortly after, and everyone was detained.

Following the interrogation, he was detained with five others. All were accused under the Wildlife (Protection) Act and Section 120A (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code of allegedly delivering snake venom at a party in Noida’s Sector 51.
A forensic test verified the presence of cobra and krait snake venom in the party samples. The accused will be brought to court, according to the article.
Authorities conducted raids in Noida Sector 49 in early November, revealing a stunning discovery: five cobras were confiscated during the operation. Further inquiry resulted in the rescue of nine more snakes and the discovery of snake venom on the grounds. Subsequent investigations linked others who claimed to go by the moniker Elvish.
In February, police authorities released findings from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report, which confirmed the presence of cobra and krait snake venom in samples collected from the place in issue.
Elvish Yadav responded to the media coverage of the snake poison case in a widely shared video on social media. He denied participating in any rave party, claiming to be in Mumbai at the time and defying officials to locate him using web searches. Yadav claimed that the police constructed bogus cases against innocent people to extract money, and he asked them to confirm his participation at the purported rave party.
Yadav was questioned about the matter on November 7, 2023. During interrogation, he stated that singer Fazilpuria had supplied the snakes for the alleged rave party in Noida. A different video of Yadav handling snakes was also shared online. Fazilpuria subsequently revealed that the viral clip came from one of his music video sessions.
