In an Assamese road disaster, fourteen persons have perished. Among the fatalities were three youngsters. The catastrophe has resulted in the critical injuries of 27 persons. In the Golaghat district on January 3, a truck and bus crashed at Balijan, close to Dergaon, according to a report by Purna Bikash Bora of India Today. whereby 14 individuals, three of them were youngsters, died away instantly.
There were reportedly forty-five persons on the bus. Everyone was heading to Bogibil to celebrate Athkhelia’s picnic. Everyone was required to travel to Tinsukia’s Tilinga temple. A coal-carrying vehicle cut the bus off as it was travelling close to Balijan. The truck originated in Margherita. Around five in the morning on Wednesday, the event occurs. The local police arrived at the scene as soon as the incident was reported, and they assisted the victims. Locals are helping to carry out relief and rescue operations.
For medical attention, the injured have been transferred to Jorhat Medical College (JMCH). Many of these individuals are stated to be in critically bad condition. Postmortems have been performed on the corpses of the fourteen individuals who perished in the tragedy. A police investigation has been initiated. Reports from the media state that there was a lot of fog on the road when the event happened.
Previously, on September 11, 2023, there was an Assamese road accident. The catastrophe in the Dibrugarh district claimed the lives of two persons instantly. Six others also suffered injuries. A few individuals from the Sivasagar district travelled to Dibrugarh to attend a family event in Shantipada. In this event, a truck struck an automobile.
